This project was a little different for HAMR Home — and one we were very proud to be part of.
Working with the Whitianga Community Services Trust, the focus was on creating a practical, welcoming and versatile community facility while making every dollar work as hard as possible. We worked closely with the Trust to keep costs down and, where we could, helped source donated products and materials supplied at cost.
The completed building provides a fantastic new resource for the community, including a large meeting and seminar room, offices, kitchen facilities, additional toilets and bathrooms, including an accessible bathroom.
The new spaces allow the Trust to accommodate everything from counselling and support services through to community groups, meetings, workshops and training. WCST supports families and individuals not only in Whitianga, but across the wider Mercury Bay and Coromandel area.
For us, this project was about more than simply delivering a building. It was about working collaboratively, finding cost-effective solutions and helping create a facility that will support the Whitianga community for many years to come.
